At the end of the summer, OPENDOEK organizes the Toekoer festival at the inspiring Herkenrode abbey site in Hasselt. A festival specifically for children up to 12 years old and their families. Toekoer Festival is all about playful theatre performances, magical stories and creative workshops. You get to see both local and national talent. You will explore the abbey site together. Both inside and outside you will discover mini theaters where stories come to life or where you imagine yourself as an actor or actress for a moment. Expect a diverse program where every child is creatively challenged. But don't worry, parents and grandparents will also enjoy the diverse program. The performances are mainly in Dutch but are often very visual and accessible for non-Dutch speakers.
